This will be my fourth summer in Junior Drum and Bugle Corps! I marched 5 summers in a senior corps with my dad and brother! This picture is at finals in the Rose Bowl Stadium, Pada Dena, CA! I got to keep my white wings, and now they are hanging as the background of my bedroom wall!
I'm a 23 year old student at the University of Minnesota, Duluth. I have a huge passion for drum corps and 2008 will be my 10th year marching. It will be my 4th year in a junior corps, and I am in the colorguard. I also just love to watch movies and hang out with friends. Silliness is key!
The key to surviving a drum corps season, which is usually May 16th - August 16th give or take, is heart. Heart, and making the closest friends you will ever have in your lifetime.
It's hard because each member must pay the dues to participate. Many say it is a rich man's sport... but I bet to prove them differently! I donate plasma twice a week to pay the extreme corps costs. Money should never stunt dreams!
I was the captain of the 2007 Blue Stars Colorguard and had an awesome time performing my solo all summer. The Blue Stars production was entitled "Power and Grace"
2006 Blue Stars: "The Five Freedoms"
My entrance in the Ballad at the Blue Stars. This was the "freedom of Religion" and the flags had different religious symbols on them. I got the Celtic Cross
Blue Stars 2006 Rifle Line
Dancing our way to the back of the field with Rifles
Blue Stars 2005 Show: "Pixelation: The Music of Final Fantasy"
This is a picture of the opening hit! This was my very first year in a junior corps! The difference between junior and senior corps is that junior corps goes 90 days in the summer, with absolutely no break! It also has an age range of 16-21 years old. Senior corps is all ages and works about one day a week in the summer!
